When Obama was in office, he waged ruthless war on the coal industry, just as he said he would do.
Now that Donald Trump is President, he has signed an executive order effectively ending that war, just as he said he would do. And his promise goes much farther.
“With today’s executive action, I am taking historic steps to lift the restrictions on American energy, to reverse government intrusion and to cancel job-killing regulations,” he announced. And he pointed out that this effort will be made in every industry, not just in energy.
Power will reside much more greatly in the states.
“We’re ending the theft of America prosperity and rebuilding our beloved country,” according to President Trump, eliminating over 50 EPA programs and cutting its workforce by about 3,200 to focus it on its primary mission: protecting our air and water. The idea is to expand energy production while creating many more jobs in infrastructure, trucking and manufacturing and to restore the magnificence of that old phrase, “Made in the USA.”
