It July it will have been 17 years since the first X-Men movie kicked off the current craze in superhero films. Of the 10 movies in the X-Men franchise, Hugh Jackman has appeared in nine of them, even if only for one line, as Wolverine, probably the best known and most iconic X-Men character. The franchise also included two — now three — Wolverine stand-alone films. The latest, Logan, was released over the weekend.

Logan is a superhero film like no other. Not only is it a superhero movie, it’s also a Western and a sci-fi flick. This is (allegedly) Jackman’s last turn as Wolverine, and they send him off in fine style.

Make sure you go see it. (Man, when you finally find out what the little girl’s deal is … Just, WOW!) Logan is probably one of the best superhero films you’ll ever see.

That being said, do not take your kids to see it. The title character is a guy with gigantic metal claws who kills people when he goes berserk. There is lots of violence in this film, This movie is not only rated “R,” but it is a hard-R. It is not intended for children. Let them wait a few years.
